The protests were growing and strengthening throughout the Panamanian territory. Massive marches were recorded, accompanied by various artistic expressions. Pickets, work stoppages in the teaching and construction sectors, and closures of the country's main roads were organized, which affected the availability of food, medicine, and basic supplies such as gas. However, the government's response did not arrive.
On the contrary, government social Phone Number List were filled with messages with information that reflected the positive results of their management, which increased the anger and indignation of the population due to the lack of attention and attitude of listening to their demands. Just 11 days after the start of the strike and the demonstrations, the President of the Republic, from the Democratic Revolutionary Party, issued a statement announcing that as of July 15 the national government would freeze the price of fuel at $3.95 for all private vehicles throughout the country.

In the same statement, he submitted to the Cabinet Council a proposal to freeze the price of ten additional products from the basic family basket. However, the measure did not satisfy the population, much less the list of food products that the government considered freezing as part of the basic basket, which were contrary to those that, in previous days, the Ministry of Health itself had suggested to maintain a healthy and balanced diet. Social discontent continued, and 13 days after the protests began, the government made a first approach to the ANADEPO leadership in the province of Veraguas.
